MIAA is exploring an integrated model combining solar energy, battery storage and AI data centres to advance next-generation green digital infrastructure in Australia.
The Multinational Investment Alliance Australia (MIAA) is exploring an integrated infrastructure model that brings together solar energy, battery energy storage and AI data centre capacity as part of the next generation of digital and energy infrastructure in Australia.
The rapid development of artificial intelligence is creating significant new demand for computing power and data centre capacity. At the same time, the growth of data centres is increasing demand for reliable, scalable and cost-efficient electricity. This convergence is creating new opportunities to integrate renewable energy, energy storage and digital infrastructure within a coordinated investment and development model.
Australia is well positioned to participate in this transformation. Its substantial renewable energy resources, growing energy storage sector, stable investment environment and expanding digital economy provide a strong foundation for the development of green AI infrastructure.
MIAA is currently exploring a model that integrates three core infrastructure components:
Solar Energy
Battery Energy Storage
AI Data Centres
Under this model, renewable energy generation can provide an important source of electricity for digital infrastructure, while battery storage can support energy reliability, load management and greater flexibility in electricity use. AI data centres provide the digital infrastructure required for computing, cloud services and emerging artificial intelligence applications.
The objective is not simply to develop individual energy or data centre assets, but to explore how these infrastructure components can be planned and developed as an integrated ecosystem.
This approach may create opportunities across several areas, including renewable energy investment, battery storage, data centre development, AI computing infrastructure, industrial land development, infrastructure financing and international capital cooperation.
MIAA believes that the convergence of energy infrastructure and digital infrastructure will become an increasingly important area of global investment.
As part of its broader Global Investment Intelligence initiative, MIAA will continue to research developments in renewable energy, energy storage, artificial intelligence infrastructure and data centre investment, while connecting relevant investors, technology providers, developers and professional partners across international markets.
